That's the ultimate praise for players of BlockWords -- it's reserved for those who have filled the entire block with words.
The Game
The idea behind BlockWords is to fill a 4x4 block with letters to spell 4-letter words across and down. Therefore, to be called a blockhead you need to make eight 4-letter words, four across and four down.
When you are playing, you'll see a box with letters cycling through it -- click on it to stop the cycling and display a single letter. Now click somewhere on the word block to drop the letter. Try to place the letter where it forms words both across and down. When you are placing the first few letters, put them where they give you the greatest number of possible words.
If you end up with a letter that you don't like, flush it! Click on the toilet or the flushes box; if you have any flushes left, the letter will disappear down the drain and you'll get to pick a new letter. To make it more of a challenge, the letters are limited in quantity. For example, you can only flush the letter ╥X╙ twice before it is removed from the list of possible letters.
When the entire block is filled, the game is over. You will be shown the ╥words╙ you have formed. If any of your words are in the game's dictionary, you'll receive points based on the letters used, as well as bonus points for letter speed and flushes remaining. The values of the letters are based upon their frequency in English words. Any words with the letter ╥X╙ or ╥Z╙ will also receive bonus points.
If you know that one of your answers is a word, but the program doesn't recognize it, you can click on it and add it to the game's dictionary. (CAUTION! There is no way to undo the addition of a word from the game. If you add a word that really isn't a word, you'll have to load the game dictionary into a word processor and delete the entry.)
The Options
When you begin a new game, you get to set the play options...
The first option sets how the letters cycle through the letter box -- either in alphabetical order or completely random. Alphabetically is easier since you can wait for a letter to appear. For a much greater challenge, try randomly.
The cycling speed determines how fast the letters cycle through the letter box. (It also determines the speed bonus points when a game is finished.) If you are playing randomly, set it to 22 since it doesn't matter anyway and you'll get the most bonus points. However, if you are playing alphabetically, you'll want to experiment to see how fast you can set the cycling and still be able to consistently click on the letter you want.
The number of flushes determines how many letters you can throw away. The flush bonus points are based on how many you actually use, not how many you set.
